Join us for Buzzy Martin's first solo showcase at 7p​m on Dec 2nd at the Metcalf Building Alley, 7 North Main Street, Providence, RI - with music by JANOB.


Titled “FIRESTARTER”, the collection will be rebellious, calling in to question our systems of value: described as ‘fashion from the apocalypse’, it shines a ‘reflecting mirror’ on our relationship to material waste. Inspired by Station Eleven, Vivienne Westwood, Junya Watanabe, Julian Roberts’ “Subtraction Cutting”, Mari Bendeliani, the Prodigy & my own Welsh heritage, I hope to call on a kind of dystopian accelerationism: a future reversion to the past with the waste of the present.


All pieces are made from 100% fabric waste.


I have decided to charge for tickets so I can reimburse my collaborators fairly for their work.


All remaining income from this event will be used to stock the Community Dinner Pail - a nomadic sculptural object that functions as a source of food & resources for those who need it.

Looking to take the issues facing the fashion industry into their own hands, Buzzy Martin set up UNSCRAPPED as a methodology for them to extend their creative practice into the fashion industry. Creating all their 1-of-1 pieces from 100% deadstock fabric, Buzzy is unafraid to carve out their own path and envision a fairer, more sustainable future.

Having previously showcased 17 looks at prestigious events including Rhode Island Fashion Week & Fashion @ Brown’s Spring Show, this upcoming showcase is an important step in Buzzy’s career as a designer.
